NEWS RELEASE:
Arkansas Community Foundation recently awarded Reaching for Life, Inc., a grant to conduct sewing/quilting classes for Lincoln and Desha County residents.
Eight 4 hour classes were held with 17 participants sharing the joy of working with fabric to create useful and fun items.
Topics covered included machine maintenance, fabric choices, basic sewing techniques, quilting techniques, and much more.
One of the favorite creations is the Prayer/Care Square and Prayer/Car Pillows. These little 10" works of love and prayer inspire those who make them, as well as those who receive them. See below for more details.
Classes were held at Star City First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Prayer Squares are becoming very popular, both with those who create them, and those who receive them. An excellent way to send love, prayers and caring thoughts to your special people, or even as a ministry to strangers in need, Prayer Squares and their various "cousins" bring comfort, encouragement, hope and love to all involved with them.

Reaching for Life, Inc., which is a non-profit organization, creates these little treasures to send to the military, shut-ins, the sick or those who simply need a special touch from God in a physical form. The following note is a sample of one we attach to a Prayer Square sent to a child in the hospital (or hurt or sick).
